Mark, to create a new content item follow the following steps:

• Click on "Add New Content"
• You can type whatever you want in the green box
• To add an image:
• Make sure image is loaded in the "Media Manager"
• Click on the cursor in the green box where you want the image to appear, then click on the Tree icon
• in the "Image URL" field, type "/images/name-of-the-file.jpg" where "name-of-the-file.jpg" is the actual name of the file.
• Click Upload and it should appear in the green box
• Under "Item Details" above the green box, give it a Title
• For the "Section" choose "News"
• For "Category" choose Latest News"
• Click "Save" in the top right corner (you can modify later)

Now you need to put it on the homepage - follow the following steps:

• Go to "Content" in the top menu, then click on "All Content Items"
• Find the title of the file you just created
• Click on the check under the "Front Page" column (you should have a green check showing - if a red "x" is showing, click it again til it changes)
• Now it should show up on the homepage

Now, you can adjust the number of items that show up on the homepage by doing the following:

• Go to "Menu" in the top navigation, then click on "Main Menu"
• Click on the first "Home" link in the box
• On the right side, you will see "Parameters" and "# Leading"
• change this number to display more or less items on the homepage
• This will always show the news items first; and it will show that number after the main article at the top of the homepage (so you will really see 4 if you select 3)

Now, if you want to adjust the main text on the homepage (including the image) do this:

• Got to "Components" in the top navigation and select "MJ Frontpage" and then "Edit Frontpage Content"
• Click on "Welcome to Hotel Salado"
• You should see another green box with all the text. You can change this as you wish and hit the "Save" button. Your changes will be saved to the live site.

Try all this out and lemme know if it works. This will be a good start. After this, I will give you another tutorial.

Also, the ideal image size for the homepage is 570 pixels wide.
